    Heated Seat Button console

Can anyone help me. I have fitted s/h heated front seats and currently my XJ8 hasn’t got the switches for them. I can get the panel which incorporates the heated seat buttons, hazard warning lights, Trac Off and Valet button and am hopeful that the existing wiring will include the heated seats facility, if fitted. The panel appears to be fixed by two screws either end of the panel. What I need to find is a ‘You Tube’ video of the procedure or something similar. Did a search but found nothing. Anyone got any ideas?

remove the trim around the gear selector. (using a flat plastic item on both sides (ideally at the same time)) (usually 4 prongs holding it in)

    Remove bolts/nuts around gear selector.
    Disconnect sports switch if required.
Hinge the wood surround upwards from the sports switch end.
Keep hinging it upwards until the tab by the switch panel is free. and wood can be removed.
now you can undo the 3 screws to change switch panel. (can't remember if the radio needs pulling forward an inch to do this)

It's fairly easy if you take your time and don't rush. It's quite easy to drop a couple of screws down the console, so be careful. The red and blue temperature controls get scratched easily so I always cover them with tape. I always pull the radio out as far as I can without having to unplug it.

Have a look at the following YouTube video:

Thanks Guys, very helpful, although Bob there appears to be no link to your suggested “You Tube” video.

Fitted heated seat switch binnacle and 'ha presto', the heated seat work. Just right for the winter months!!!
