As you’ve not heard of it before, self amalgamating tape is rubberised and stretchable. You won’t require a lot for the job. Hold one end in place and then stretch as you wrap around, the tape will adhere to itself.

I do not offer advice, I only say what I would do with the set of circumstances presented. Your choice always.

    .
    Terminology, yep.

A cap is a cloth thing you wear on your head, like a baseball cap, or a flat worker's cap:

And it is also a topping piece like the piece of metal sitting on top of the wheel studs on our S Types which are often rounding or breaking off, or the metal screw top of a bottle:

And those caps you linked to.

A hat is bigger than a cap, something men or women wear for formal dress occasions. Like when they go to Ascot or Windsor horse races:

    And:

I'm not sure if that's a man or woman!

Something with threads that screws on a threaded stud or bolt is a nut, not a cap:

A cap can also be an explosive device for a toy gun, or something used to set off lots of explosives like those used by professionals to demolish blocks of flats (apartments).

It can also mean "to finish all those bad things off", as in "to cap it all, my wife left me!".

And a nut is a hard fruit, like a peanut, or a walnut or Brazil nut:

And it is also a person who is mad:

And a mad person can be someone who is angry!

The English language is full of words with two or more meanings! So I hope I've confused you more!

I hope you enjoy reading this as much as I have writing it!

Find out the size of your bolt or stud, it looks like 6mm? Then you can find plastic 6mm (M6) and 8mm ( M8 ) screws easily or maybe use metal ones?

These are plastic M6 6mm screws:

Ah, the beautiful English language. I do like it tho. Quite simple compared to my native language pack. We have 7 grammatical cases, 8 main tenses and what seems as an infinite number of other variables, and amazing number of other lingual subtleties.

Yes, I think I do actually need a cap, but preferably the one that goes on 6mm thread on a supercharger. This one->

EDIT: A friend of mine once told me that what makes or breaks an expert today is mostly knowing the right terminology at a specific field of expertise and understanding processes on that specific field, so that you can search on Google for stuff. It you take a look at it, most of computer based "smart" jobs (programming, IT, db development, etc.) is spending good amount of time using Google.

If you know a BT engineer or see one on your travels, ask said engineer if you can have a 6" length of it.

Asking a BT engineer for "a 6in length" doesn't sound dodgy at all!

There is a slight, but very real chance that I would not be very happy with the answer...
