    Battery light coming on

My battery light comes on intermittently. I have checked the voltage and am showing 12.5 v engine off. With engine running I am showing 14.3v. There doesn't appear to be anything wrong with the battery or the alternator.
The only thing I can think that it is is a few weeks ago I put a trickle charger on the battery because I knew the car wouldn't be run for a few weeks. The fault has only shown since doing this.
Have I buggered up the cars memory? Do I need to reset it? If so how do I do it?
I have been running the car as normal and the battery is remaining fully charged, if 12.5v is fully charged. I suspect it should be closer to 13v
I have read quite a few of the posts but haven't found the one to do the battery reset yet.

You probably need to reset the Battery Monitoring System (BMS).
Just disconnect the battery for 30 minutes then reconnect.
No need to touch the positive battery terminal connection, just remove the negative terminal connection or the earth lead which runs off it.

Just put the lead back on. Left it for 40 minutes to be sure. No warning light so all seems good. I will monitor for the next few trips and fingers crossed all is ok.
Thanks again OxJagXFS, you have probably saved me a couple of hundred $$$$

    Hope it works!
Also I stuffed up with the terminology, it's Battery Management System not Monitoring.
Last but not least you may need to reset the interior lights "auto on", if so just touch the centre console light for 2 or 3 seconds until the lights flash twice.

You may also have to reset the widow auto open/close . Only takes a few seconds.

Press down and hold until you hear a slight click, then press up and hold until you hear a slight click. Job done.
