    Happy Guy Fawkes' Night!

    Here it is, unannounced, forgotten.

So... I wish you all a bright, noisy, safe and happy Guy Fawkes' Night with mulled wine, sausages and spuds in the bonfire, and glowing cheeks!

It's for your kids and grandkids, remember your excitement?

How many of you are having one?

Can I import some of you lot to do the same for Congress here in the States? Waste of breathable air, most of them, the current speaker of the House being the worst...

It's raining Datsun bolts here in North Norfolk,so it will take more than a firelighter to get a decent bonfire going....

Shame,As I hoped to get a load of garden rubbish burnt off on the back of it!

Years gone by you should have seen the black smoke from our bonfire when my dad would burn some old tyres......

Just another quiet night here in Wild Western Spain.
Mind you, given almost any excuse - wedding, fiesta, whatever - the villagers will trudge round the streets and let off a few rockets, most of which only bang with nothing pretty.

Last time I was in Spain there was a festival round the town. I was somewhat surprised to see the leader being handed quite large rockets as he walked which he held in his hand, lit the fuse, and released just before the flames reached his hand. Saw about 6 or so being released without any noticeable ill effects and from the sound around the town many more were set off.

Couldn’t imagine that happening in the uk
