    Cruise control unit

    Dear all,

I have problem with my cruise control unit as per attached picture below (2W93-9AA12-BD) after having an accident with a badger. So I need to change the unit. The price of a new one is very expensive.
Could you please be so kind and share information where to find Jaguar parts within Europe for human prices?

    The car is XJR (X350) V8 4,2 SuperCharged 2004.

    Many thanks and best regards
    Joseph

Sorry to hear you have a problem, these units are even expensive as a used item, anything up to £500, they are as rare as hens teeth, I had cause to be looking for one a couple of years ago, I did find one in America, it was not possible to get it working on the car, I also sent my old one away for reconditioning, again it was unsuccessful. I still have my warning light on now, 2 1/2 years later !
Best to keep searching, I believe a similar unit was also used in Ford and Volvo cars and the Range Rover as well.
Be aware that the slightly later version has the plug socket on the end and not the rear, these are not comparable.
Do a search on the UK and USA forums as there are numerous threads about these.

Thanks, I did find one in US and bought it for 450$. It seems to be in a very good shape based on the pictures, seller said that it comes with 6 month warranty that it's functional.

My unit packed up not long ago, I managed to get an "almost new" one on Ebay for £750.00 against my better judgement but my OCD couldn't cope with annoying yellow light on the dash. These units are a total nightmare and it doesn't appear they can be repaired as they are sealed shut.
Depending on your insurance excess / protected no claims etc, it might be worth claiming.
