    Looks great Ian, good choice.

It's a nice step up and a good compromise of both power and economy ( stick a remap on it as we discussed and you'll love the performance and then some, not a lot of buck for all those extra horses )

It's good that you've left yourself somewhere to go and not just jumped straight into an XJ, we'll welcome you to that club in about 4 years time.

This'll be new ownership thread number 3 for you now?

    Cheers
    Jim

Thanks Jim, yeah I went with the 3.0d because as you say it's the best of both. I think the XJ is just a tad too large for me, although I keep wanting to get an F-Type but the long haired general says otherwise.

They are beginning to stack up in the previous Jags list.

Pleased for you Ian, bet you canít wait, itís my motto that youíre only here once! I canít preach about a new ownership thread as Iíve had a tough year so far so not really had the time but wish I had started one with my XJ, it wouldnít be a long thread as itís only the SWB Version!

Do it Roy, do it retrospectively.
If you get a chance you can make the first post or two about where / when the car was bought, the experience, any servicing / mods etc done to now and add loads of pics. It'd be nice to hear how you got on, and see where you are now with comments etc along the way.

Another XJ X351 ownership thread wouldn't go amiss

Meanwhile back to Ian D and his new baby, no doubt we'll get updates soon enough

I've had to push the date back to Wednesday 27th May now, which is confirmed with the dealer, this is due to work commitments. Can't wait, first thing I'll do is fit the aluminium paddles, then give it a really good wash and polish. Once done, I'll start my own ownership thread on it. As there isn't much here at all on the X260 XF.

I already know what I want to do for mods.

    Aluminium paddles
    Black pack
    illuminated treadplates
Luxury mats including boot carpet mat
Fit aftermarket apple carplay system (links through the incontrol touch and works by long press of the home button).
Remap - 340bhp sounds very tempting!

    It’s a 2016 XF 3.0d S, with the following items:

    Panoramic sunroof
350mm Painted red brakes (I don’t need to do them Jim!)
18 way memory seats, folding mirrors, electric steering column
    Meridian 380w
    LED headlights
    split folding rear seats
    spare wheel space saver
front heated and cooled seats in Ebony/light oyster grained leather
    rear heated seats
    19” wheels
Front and rear parking sensors with rear camera
    adaptive dynamic suspension
It’s even got wood! Satin grey figured ebony veneer.

I’ll be switching the aluminium paddles over to this one along with getting the black pack.
More pictures as soon as I collect the car, all being well it could be as quick as Friday.

The XE has been a great car for the almost 3 years I’ve owned it from new and I’d recommend one to anyone who wants a fun little sports saloon.
Looks really nice Ian - wood eh what will they think of next lol! Think I prefer the interior of the XF to the XE having seen a few now.
