De-Chromed and Changed to a Sports Grill (with photos))

i de-chromed my front grill today

before i started it looked like this .......

this is what im replacing it with ........

i first undone the 4 bolts that hold on the grill .......

    the bolts are a size 10 .......

heres my cat with no teeth

i then unclipped the chrome grill from the holding frame after undoing the 3 torq screws ......

i then took both of the teeth out of both grills as my original teeth were much cleaner then the one from ebay (buggers)
its only a matter of unscrewing 9 little philips screws
but i will upgrade to the mesh grill as soon as one comes up cheep enough on ebay

once i swapped over the teeth i replaced the holding frame to the sports grill .......

then bolted it back on to the bonnet with the 4 bolts ......

and now it looks like this ......

now im on the look out for the mesh grill

How come it had a chrome grill on it in the first place. I thought only SE's had the chrome grill?

The only ones that don't have the chrome grill are the sports, the rest have chrome
2.5 X-type followed by 3.0 Sport followed by 3.0 SE, is there a trend here?
