Here's my XJ X358 2.7 Tdvi Sovereign LWB ( pics at the showroom as bought )

Car has been Terracleaned recently too.

At Mackies Transmissions and had the Transmission serviced....

Had the wheels off today and cleaned the hubs and calipers, then repainted them.
Went for stock silver on the hubs and gloss black on the calipers.
Took the opportunity to clean the wheels inside n out whilst I was at it....

Took the car into Prestige Jaguar Prestige Jaguar for the front suspension to be done.
They were doing the Banana arm bushes and the front shocker bushes.

Ian and Dougie are awesome guys, with a great setup.....Its a really warm friendly environment, the do a great job and prices are very reasonable too....all good!
I'd been having a few issues with a "steering wheel wobble" usually when braking, and had thoughts of warped discs, buckled alloys, out of round tyres etc, but decided at 63k to get the suspension re done, as it was showing signs of wear.

They had real difficulty with two bolts, one of which I tried to move with a breaker bar late last night.
I'm 6'3" and built, that sucker was going nowhere, the bar was going to break first, so they had to be drilled out and new bolts inserted to complete the job. This meant the car was left there overnight, but I got it back first thing this morning.

The wobbly steering is cured, absolute dream to drive now, so pleased and soaks up the bumps even more so now.
I can't thank Ian and Dougie enough and highly recommend them for anyone in the Central belt of Scotland for any work needing done on their Jag.

Had my car in at The Jag Specialist in Doncaster for the following work......

Rear wishbone bushes replaced.......
Rear shocker bushes replaced........
Cat flexi pipe repair passenger side repaired....
Bonnet switch bypassed ( bonnet open messages and car alarm sounding randomly ).....
New rear brake pads supplied / installed

The car was then tracked straight and true, all good.
She ran like a champ all the way home, actually seemed slightly more power, better economy and most importantly no diesel fumes in the cabin.......well pleased.
Saw nearly 40mpg on the way home as an average, and that was with some fairly long term spirited sessions too, and around 700 miles out of the tank.
Thank you to Chris and Craig at The Jag Specialist

Not the best of days but dry ( at least for a while ) and as long as my son was washing his I thought I'd give mine the once over.
Just a quick wash n dry and a good chance for a photo opportunity with the new plates etc

engine cover painted....

These exhaust finishers added....

Probably more I'm forgetting but that'll do for now........

You have a lovely car there, Jim - superb! I see the problem (black Jags) runs in the family - it must be genetic.

Probably more I'm forgetting but that'll do for now........ .....EDIT>>>>

Car had a health check and although recently serviced ( 500 miles or so before I bought it )

I decided to do an engine oil / filter change....only to halfway on the dipstick of course...

I also renewed the air filter, pollen filter and fuel filter while I was at it

These were added to the tyre setup ....

Thanks Herculesuk1 - Some of the bushes were worn, but not ( fail an MOT worn....it had recently passed )
I guess the answer is that it was more pre emptive, looking to the future than anything else........all done now and all good!

Looks very nice Jim, can't wait to see it on Saturday!
Thanks Alec, looking forward to meeting up with you and seeing yours too, should be a good day
I have some SNG Barratt freebies, some forum decals for any that want them and one or two Jaguar RSR Racing t shirts and baseball caps too!!

An absolute stunner is a hackneyed phrase but fully applicable here. Well done JimC64.
Regards................................IP
Thanks for the kind words Pappy, much appreciated

Thanks for the comments Tobi..

I hear what you're saying and expect a lot of comments on that tbh, but it doesn't bother me as I don't believe in that snobbery or whatever anyone wants to call it.

Its just a little fun, a little kidology, adds a splash orf colour to the boot and makes the boy racers think twice....lol
Anyone in the know for Jags knows what it is, so no big deal IMO

You could argue by the same token that its "wrong" to add upgraded parts to a basic XJ to make it look like a newer version, window tints, upgraded wheels etc etc

Live life and have a little fun I say..

It was dry today, sunny at times then a little overcast, but dry...

I took the opportunity to spend a few hours and apply some Poorboys Blackhole over the car.
As stated before its black, and yes, there are swirl marks.

The Poorboys Blackhole does a great job of filling / masking these and makes an amazing difference, although it really has to be seen in person, pictures really don't do it justice.

The finish before when clean is a little like 4000 grit sandpaper almost, afterwards its more like Glass and the difference shows...

Bonnet reflection shots....

Rear.......

YES is the short answer 256

Poorboys Blackhole is specifically meant for darker coloured cars, I used it on my Blue Audi A6 with equally impressive results........

Bonnet........

Its easy on easy off application too, so all good

Note - It won't get rid of the swirls as such, but will fill / mask them for you......only a polish / detail will remove them

Thanks IMNL although I'm sure that won't be the case.........to be fair you have a few more miles to go than I

Look forward to Saturday

Thanks Buck, take that as a compliment as I know you look after your baby too!

Calipers n hubs only took maybe 3-4 hours and made a really big difference.......surprisingly enough, just cleaning the wheel wells and applying a generous amount of your favourite tyre black makes an even bigger improvement, ask me how I know...lol

Rear exhaust finishers are from Geoff at Adamesh and are an absolute straight fit over existing and look soooo much better IMO.......only around £65 iirc

Jimc34 I was impressed with the results you had with Poorboys Black Hole polish on your beautiful car , so I ordered some from that well known auction
site.
Spent the afternoon with it on my car and am very pleased...........thanks for the recommendation.

Excellent work...
Been doing mine after I finished work at 4pm today to ready for Doncaster tomorrow.
Bound to rain now
Tried a magic sponge on the driver's seat but it went through the top layer of dye and the bolster was cracked, and worn but all looks like new now

Jim, to impress those that do not know, adding an 'R' badge is pointless. To those that do know.... you'd just be a 'plonker' and you should be embarrassed to turn up at any meeting with it ! Why don't you stick on a couple a fornicating rabbits too ?

I'm with JimC64 on this one. When I bought my car, it had an "R" badge on the boot, even though it's not an XJR. Someone on this forum seemed to be a little upset by it and told me to take it off, so because of their advice I added two to the front wings and one to the grille. I'm not trying to fool anyone even though people ask if it's an XJR. I always say it's not an R and tell them the above story. If that makes me a plonker, so be it. If someone gets upset about what I do to my own car, well, that's their problem and I won't loose any sleep over it.

Clive.
