How often someone would get to engage cruise above that is beyond me.
I'm not sure if all cars operate/disable cruise at the same top speed?

Even where it's legal I would worry and probably wouldn't engage it above 100mph, the bendy autobahn ahead is under my wheels in no time at that speed so I want full immediate control, foot off = immediate speed drop, not pause until I move my foot to the brake.

Cruise control will switch off but the set
speed will remain in the memory when
When the vehicle reaches a maximum
    speed of 192 km/h (120 mph).

    Sorry rondu, not ignoring you.

The car is a one owner and according to the dealer service history nothing was ever changed on the cruise side and its standard cruise, not adaptive.

Ive tried the battery reset and changed the earth lead which was cracked.

Gonna go to ATS and have a battery test.

if its not that then on to an Indy to have a diagnostic check.

Up up until last week or so it was fine!!

    Frustrating!!!

Standard cruise on our cars is done by the PCM but it must be using data not just from directly connected sensors but also from other module(s) - ABS and TCM at least, I expect. Sounds like some value(s) don't look right to it so it won't cruise.

I suspect only a good jag tech will know how to go about finding what's wrong.

I take it you've no add-ons, mods, weird wheels or such like that might be interfering in the data the PCM sees.... Any such would be #1 suspect.

Just noticed it's a manual - no TCM, so one fewer thing to wonder about.

Not the back boxes unless they've chafed cables or the like.

4am A5 Autobahn was clear and is straight, still I only did it to see what for possible, no more than 10s.
