If it is any consolation Rich, mine is in a hell of a state too - might get the bucket and sponge out over the weekend............

With the amount of wax on Rich’s car I should think it took all of 5 minutes to wash the muck off.

Thanks for the comfort FC, appreciated it is.

As for bucket and sponge, are you mad?

Buckets and Lambswool mitts are what is needed as a bare minimum.

Anything and everything to keep swirls to a minimum, sponge use is a sure fire way to an early correction detail.

I don't have lambswool, but I do have microfibre sponges and a ton of microfibre cloths.

    So,

Having owned up to a filthy Jag, I thought I'd share some pics

    Before

Note the mug on the roof, the words upon will have meaning to those of us who've served in the Senior Service, quite apt I thought.

For those not familiar with Navy speak, or struggling to read, it says 'All Hands to Bathing Stations'

Nowt to do with having a wash, all to do with a bit of RnR. In my case, the middle of the Atlantic and diving off the bridge wing of HMS Fearless, the Officer of the watch was none too pleased.

    Washed & Rinsed

    Ready for Tomorrow

And its meet with our resident tree park attendant

29th Dec 2018 - A meet with Chris, Lindsey and a little Aston

Yesterday was the day I finally got to meet my nemesis

None other than he who parks in trees, Chris, aka C16RKC.

Turns out he's as dapper as I am, equally at ease with his hair design and a thoroughly decent chap.

As he had brought his lovely wife Lindsey and little Aston north for some retail therapy, who was I to refuse a request to meet before their return to Norfolk.

We duly met at 1145 in a national parks car park at Crowden on the Woodhead Pass.

Introductions, car browsing and little Aston secured, off we went on a 55mile drive around the Peak District.

As Chris and Lindsey would agree, none of the route was flat like Norfolk.

The first picture shows the route on google and the second, the car, Chris and Holme Moss TV mast (I have sat atop this mast with my feet dangling over the edge).

Knowing they'd by driving part of the pass to get to the meeting point and then the remainder on route home, it made sense to plan a route that took in the Snake Pass.

I even got to drive on roads new to me, some of which felt more like the Dales and hard to believe within 15 minutes of my home.

    The route took in,

Holme Moss, Holme, Holmfirth (Last of the Summer Wine), Penistone (yes Clarkson, May and Hammond did that joke), Wigtwizzle and The Snake to Glossop.

A great drive, in a great car and with great company, thank you Chris, Lindsey and Aston.

Standards have to be maintained Alec, as you well know.

The RR Sport and a very classy looking one at that. No doubt its cavernous boot was full of retail therapy acquisitions and little Astons necessities.
