    Question Replacing HID to LED

    Hello,

I just bought my new XF this week, and I am so impressed on what they have done from the previous jad (I had 63 plate before). I wasnt too excited about the headlights so I bought a set of LED headlights, so my question is and hopefully someone can help, is there a lot involved in converting the normal HID lights to LED ones, and if an electrician is required maybe someone has any recommendations in London or 100miles radius.

    Thank you

The car is still new, so most people won't be modifying their cars whilst still under warranty.

You may find that you're one of the first to conduct this mod to your car. If you get the LED upgrade fully working, you'll have to hopefully let us know.

    Good luck

Looks like led is just a marketing feature. They are less powerfull then the xenon lights. So why downgrading?

    Test

    Hello Anda.

Yesterday i make a test. A few days ago i've bought an used full LED-Headlamp. I pur the connector from my oem xenons on the LED, and....it works. Everything, DRL, low beam, high beam and the turn indicator. There was no warning or error shown in the display.

    Greetings from Germany

Just converted my 2017 XF to LED headlights from the HiD ones, all fuctionality works fine only issues is the dash light for the indicators flashes fast have solved this with a resistor which works fine. Anyone know if the cars Canbus system can be told to ignor the indicators. how's it done if they were factory fit

Sorry to disagree, but I have the LED's fitted to mine and they are brilliant especially with the adaptive lighting feature.

None of the dealers would know how and the CCF will get overwritten every time Pathfinder is used to update any software on the vehicle.
