None of them are Electric Jim unless you count the wife's Hybrid
but each has it's roll to play,
Top comes off the Merc for Sunday Lunch at some of the great wineries
The Toyota has F&R diff lockers fitted and can go just about anywhere. It tows my fishing Tinny when going Bush camping and fishing, or through the croc infested rivers lol!
The Honda provides my adrenaline rush when needed and like 2 wheeler's in the past my preferred mode of transport
Of course my XF RSport is also much loved lol!

Time to introduce my Mercedes E350CDi.
Ever since reading about someone who used a Mk IV Escort estate bodyshell and a damaged RS Turbo to create an RS turbo estate, I've liked the idea of a fast estate car.
Matches my preference of "more go than show" in my cars, and if the vehicle isn't fashionable into the bargain, that's another box ticked.
With the keeper "Tibbles" making calls on my wallet, I didn't feel able to go for something properly wild like an AMG/M5/Audi RS/XFR, but quite liked the E Class styling on the quiet.
Lucky enough to find the 3.0 V6 within budget, so it joined the fleet.
600Nm of torque makes it very smooth to drive. family say the feeling generated in stong acceleration feels like an aeroplane taking off.
However, it also needs to take the burden of everyday family transport, so it isn't allowed to have airs & graces.
I would like to have been a bit less predictable with the colour, but hey-ho I don't think it's offensive - just a bit obvious.

My pride and joy is a 1954 Austin A40 Somerset bought in 1992 from the family of the original owner in Chichester. This beauty is in totally original condition including the black paint and red leather except for tyres and battery of course. This car is so original that when Rover fitted the chrome grille on the 200/400 series cars around 1993 they borrowed my Somerset to place on the end of the production line for a photo shoot for a press release as the Somerset was the last car produced at Longbridge with a proper chrome grille.
My 2006 Jaguar XK 4.2 convertible in frost blue comes a close second but is a modern car compared to the A40.
In a slightly larger garage at a farm are my AEC Buses.
