Bit of background - I've owned my Jaguar XE Portfolio 2.0 2015 for 3 months, bought privately secondhand. After taking it to 3 mechanics, now at a specialist, he's said the coolant has been leaking into the cylinders and I'll need a new engine costing £8-9k which I can't afford.
So here's the back ground: it's a 04 Xj8 with 70k miles, one female owner, lightly driven and dealer serviced.
The failure: suffered from a massive vacuum leak in the module located on the left side valve cover, facing the windshield (US Passenger Side). This part isn't readily available here...
So it has been determined that the X-type needs to get an engine rebuild after doing a compression test, the figures are:
Cylinder 1: 85 PSI
Cylinder 3: 120 PSI
Cylinder 5: 150 PSI
[Bank 1 "wet" test results in all cylinders reading 250 PSI]
Cylinder 2: 250 PSI
