  1. X-Type (X400) 2001 - 2009
Hi all, I have a 2007 X-Type 3.0 V6 with an issue after changing the spark plugs. We believe it is air escaping from somewhere on the intake but are not too sure. The sparkplugs and coilpacks have been checked and there are no signs of leaking along with the air inlet being checked by brake...
  2. X-Type (X400) 2001 - 2009
Let me start out saying, the factory fitted intake on the V6 Xtype, coupled with a k&n panel filter, is as good as it gets... with the stock engine bay set up. I may be wrong, but it seems the reason there is no "performance" intake design, is partly due to the available space in the engine...

2.0D, SE, 2006. With all the usual symptoms of a clogged EGR valve, I decided to get it sorted. Be prepared to get as Black as a coal miner. Remove and clean the EGR valve with whatever cleaners you prefer (From Carb cleaner to oven cleaner, all of them work). Then remove the Intake Manifold...

Hi all, I have been following the forums since last year when I bought a 2005 S Type 2.7d, non-DPF (thank God!). I came from a 407 1.6HDi, which is not very different to the DT17, when it comes to basics. After battling for a few months with EGR valves, and having had the exact same problems...
  6. X-Type (X400) 2001 - 2009
I was working on an X type yesterday, the MAF sensor wires got damaged from moving against the AC or PAS pipe. The air intake itself had got loose, the rubber mounts for it up at the front were perished and i raised the intake up by putting tape around the worn mounts, but on the other side...
  7. XK8 / XKR (X100) 1996 - 2005
Hi, I have changed the bearings in the supercharger on my 2001 XKR. Is there anyone who knows the correct torque in Nm and tread type for the eight bolts at the supercharger snout and the four bolts on the intake elbow? Also there is no gasket on the snout or the casing but should I use some...
  8. X-Type (X400) 2001 - 2009
Hello all, Now I don't want to start a "should I or shouldn't I" thread as I know there's LOTS of those... Just looking for any opinions from folk with experience..... I've modded my airbox already.... Removed the fins, dremeled the inside lips etc.... However I'm still not getting the growl...
