As winter rapidly approaches in this part of the world, I've had to clear the mirrors for the first time this morning.... But how is the heating on the mirrors switched on? Is it an automatic thing or does it come on with the rear demister perhaps?

Evening all Noticed my wing mirrors don't dip very far when i put the car into reverse (max 3mm). Should they go further or do i need to take a look at them?
