Just picked up a 1987 jaguar xjs v12 convertible. Can't get it to turn over. It has a chapman alarm that I believe I disconnected. All I get is clicks and a low tone siren or noise from some where on passenger side foot well
Any ideas how to procede?

Welcome. Start with a personal introduction - this is 'New Members Introduce Yourself Here' and then, a follow on post in the specific type area - XJ-S / XJS 1976 – 1996

Perhaps you should contact the previous owner / dealer? Some of us do get concerned about new posters asking how to override security / get replacement keys and so on.

Just disconnecting an alarm won't override an immobilizer.
Have you tried resetting the inertial cut-off switch?

You are correct, I'm using the wrong term.
The inertial impact switch disables the fuel pump circuit when the car gets crashed or bumped hard.
Didn't know there was such a thing, but that sounds like a very worthwhile invention.
