CJS Autos Bristol - another Usedjags?!

Hello all,

I was one of the unfortunate many who experienced the Usedjags/nm jags problems first hand with various problems leading to small claims court proceedings, bailiffs etc. and finally a post on this very forum which led to them coughing up some of the cash they owed me.

The x type 2.0d SE I bought from them finally gave up the ghost a couple of months ago, with injector failures and corroded glow plugs, flashing glow plug lights and miss fires - so I abandoned ship as the car had covered over 150k miles and didn't feel it worthwhile spending more cash on it. Consequently I acquired myself a mondeo ghia x tdci 130 which, although reliable, doesn't come close to the x type for driveability, fuel economy and build so looking at purchasing another x type from CJS autos in bedminster Bristol. Very keen not to get caught in the same trap again, anyone out there had experience with these guys, being from the same area of Bristol are they at all affiliated with the Morley clan? If so I will avoid like the plague, if not I want to head up there and return to jaguar ownership again as soon as possible!

Many thanks for your thoughts.

Hi. Not too sure on that one, I've not heard of CJS motors before now. The best way to find out if they are linked would be to go to companies house and find out who the directors are. The only thing that you do have in your favour is the fact that you have owned an X type before and should know what you are looking for. You could do no harm by going and have a look at the car. 8)

Hi

Thanks for your reply. Good thinking to check out companies house to get the names of the directors, will do that tonight.

I'll head up there next weekend and take a look, and see how it goes. I do indeed have experience now of how one should drive so nothing to lose in just checking out the place, will let you know how I get on!

Thanks again for your quick response.
