Hi,

I made an enquiry to Paramout Performance earlier this week via email regarding an ECU remap and was surprised to receive a call from a different company saying Paramout Performance have gone into administration. The new company are dealing with the administrators, hence the call offering me a remap.

Is this true?

I have never had dealings with Paramount but are sorry to hear.

Do Viezu write all the maps for these tuning companies? I know for a fact they supplied the maps for Paramount and Viezu pride themselves on Jaguar tuning plus other brands as well.

Wonder if these companies write there own maps: Paramount, Spires, ETG, Arden, Eurotoys, Eurotek, TD Performance etc. Just wonder how different can these ECU tunes be.

Reason I'm asking is that I'm going to do the pulley and ECU tune on my XFR and Viezu have a local guy here in NZ.

My XJ had a custom map taking a full day to write so not bad for £199 (which included a free update a few weeks later).Generic pre written ones barely take 30 mins as a generic map is simply uploaded to the cars ECU regardless of individual engine differences for the same model so not tweaked after upload).
Off to get a final tweak to the remap done fingers crossed in time for Santa Pod III
Anyone wanting to come along to Stokesley in North Yorks (and perhaps get your car on the rollers) to see how its done in around 4-5 weeks will see you there
Just had the Picasso HDi done with a generic remap which took 30 mins and cost £205 (as my boss also got his C8 done for better caravan pulling power by a rally tuning company called Eclite Performance,Sunderland who do mobile tuning and came to our workplace).
A noticeable difference and much needed upgrade, pre remap the car was very slow (booked at 90 BHP but doubt it was that) but is now much livelier is more economical (over 70mpg on a 22 mile round trip to Newxastle Airport at 4am the other Sunday morning)
