Hello, I am currently in the market for a Jaguar XF 2.2D. Both my wife and I have taken a liking to this vehicle and are considering purchasing one. However, I have a few inquiries that I hope someone knowledgeable about this model can assist me with. My budget for this purchase is within the range of £7,000 to £8,000. Would this budget be sufficient for acquiring a decent quality car?Upon my research, I have come across information regarding the gearbox being sealed for life but requiring servicing after 90,000 miles. I have noticed that the majority of the cars being sold come with a full service history. Will the servicing history indicate if the gearbox has been serviced or should I make arrangements for this maintenance regardless? Additionally, I am curious to know what factors I should be mindful of when assessing the vehicle and what questions I should ask the seller. Most of the cars I have come across have mileage ranging from 80,000 to 100,000 miles. Is this considered high?

Congratulations and enjoy the car.
It's been a while since I had my X250 but I seem to recall the locking tab on the interior of the driver's door was a bit more reluctant to move if I pressed the central unlock key, or used the remote to unlock the car. That seemed normal. When I opened the door using the main handle, it all worked fine.
Other more technical people, with better X250 knowledge than I have, can advise on the locking tab issue you describe. If it does turn out to be a latch problem, bear in mind it is a different part number depending on whether or not your car has keyless entry.
