I've had one of these in my X Type for a while now & also have one in my company van & must say for the cost you really can't go wrong.

As my car has the built in Sat Nav there's no easy way of installing a suitable head unit that has bluetooth connectivity.

It works by transmitting to an FM frequency that you can tune your radio to, you can change the frequency if you find you get too much interference.

Its powered from the cigarette lighter socket & I have found the charger plug fits in the socket & still allows the ashtray lid to be closed.

I removed the gear stick cover & was able to run the cable inside the centre console & have the control unit which is about 50mm round stuck to the dash to the left of the steering wheel, doing this means its almost unnoticeable.

Although it handles calls via bluetooth my calls still come through the Jaguar system as Jaguar designed.

I am using a similar gadget in my X type estate, but I have plugged the blue tooth gadget into the 12v supply in the boot space, leaves the supply in the ashtray clear for my phone or whatever.
It works really well, I use an old ipod for my music via Bluetooth gadget, but then use my phone via Bluetooth to the car phone system as usual.
I was thinking of buying a Bluetooth speaker with usb connection and mount it somewhere, maybe passenger footwell or somewhere in the back and leave it permanently plugged in then stream radio or music from my phone, but these devices seem to be another good alternative. Found this as an example...
That's the device I have, as you suggest, I have just left it plugged in in the boot space. I have found using 108 fm is fine, no interference but i guess that could vary across the country depending on local conditions and radio stations.
I have recently installed a UGREEN bluetooth device (Suggested by forum member Twocups) to the ACM and it works a treat. It lives with the ACM inputs in the centre console and is constantly plugged in so whenever i turn the ignition on, it connects to my phone and away i go with all my musical desires.

If you have the ACM fitted, its certainly a good choice.
Does it switch off automatically when the ignition is switched off? Read some reviews and a lot of complaints on that model with poor build quality, unreliable and some have become very hot and melted plastic! I guess you are happy with yours? Anybody else got any models to recommend (to boy OR TO AVOID!?)

I think mine switches off with the ignition. Its hard to tell for sure as the light goes out after a few seconds anyway and of course, the stereo cannot be used without power but it has never been even remotely warm yet.
Not had any problems with mine, quite literally fitted it a few months ago when I bought the car and never really looked at it since!
I assume it switches off with the ignition? Will have to check now just out of curiosity!
I should add, the main reason I fitted mine in the boot was because it's too tall when fitted in the ashtray plug and didn't look right. Plus I wanted the front socket for my phone charger
Anybody fitting a device like this, you will find there is lots of room behind the ashtray. Just get another cigar lighter holder, connect it to the original cigar lighter & just hide everything away behind the ashtray.

This is the set up I use. The little head unit has a magnetic back, this sits on a base that is fixed to the cigar lighter (3m sticky tape). This is easily removed as shown, to access a micro memory card slot.
I make up my own compilations and save them to the card. This transmits to a spare channel on the radio (87.5 in my case), this can be tuned to an unused channel in your area.

The supply for the transmitter is taken from the power socket in the centre armrest, which is ignition switched. The cable is easily hidden behind the trim to give a neat installation.

The unit also serves as a phone 'hands free' unit if required. I am equipped with Jaguars built in system, so this is not used. It does not interfere with the built in system.

I have a 6 stack CD player in the boot as well of course, the dash mounted one but I seldom use these any more.

I don't remember the make of the unit I used, but it should be easy to find, (Ali Express or Amazon, I don't remember)

So if you are having CD player problems this would be a (very cheap) solution. I am well happy with mine.

Good luck.................IP

This looks really cool... there is an upgraded version... not expensive, worth a try.
I bought what was literally the cheapest type on eBay at the time to try in my old primera gt, which I had already converted to have a hidden multi socket hidden behind the head unit, it crackled when turned up loud in that car. In the jaguar however the same cheap little unit hidden in the boot gives crystal clear sound at as high a volume as I've tried. must be the quality of the jaguar sound system.
