I have just completed the task of converting the car phone to Bluetooth & it was quite easy. The parts that you need are -
1: Bluetooth module from a late model of any of the following cars - X350, X Type, or S Type. The part number is 7W93-10D893-AB
2: The microphone from any of the same models of car.
Both of these parts should be available from any specialist Jaguar wrecker.
3: A mounting adaptor plate.
4: An antenna with about 5' of coax cable.
The above two parts can be obtained from Cameron Knight at www.oldjaguar.com or facebook.com/oldjaguarau
Installation involves fitting the microphone to the hood lining adjacent to the driver's sun visor & then plugging it into the microphone plug in the upper centre console; unplugging the old handset in the armrest centre console (accessed through the rear seat aircon vent); unbolting the phone mudule in the boot & substituting the bluetooth module; & stringing the antenna.
To pair your mobile phone to the bluetooth unit, first switch bluetooth OFF on your mobile. Then turn the ignition to accessories & turn bluetooth ON on your mobile. After a few moments, JAGUAR will appear on the mobile screen. Tap JAGUAR. Then it will ask for a code & a number screen will appear. Type in 1313. The word PAIR will then appear (top right on an Iphone). Tap PAIR. It will then ask for permission to use your contacts list. Tap allow. From then on, every time the ignition is on, your mobile will connect to the car, so long as you have it with you.
If anyone would like more detailed installation instructions, you can contact me at busmansys@aol.com
