Coolant Level ?

Guys,

Firstly, apologies for the upcoming numpty question, but had to ask anyway .....

Want to check my coolant level today, but the header tank doesn't have a MIN/MAX marker that I can see, and the book just states that the fluid should be "level with the bottom of the filler neck".

That seems a little ambiguous to me, so rather than screw it up, thought I'd ask. How far down is the bottom of the filler neck? Does it mean about an inch and a bit down - I.e. just under the bottom of the cap, or does the filler neck mean the tubed part of the header tank itself??

"level with the bottom of the filler neck" take this as instructed, leaving about an inch of an air gap between coolant and cap.
Thanks Sean !!
