CREWE HALL HOTEL Sun 4th June 2023 XJ X351 "Gathering #2"

This is THE XJ X351 "Gathering #2" coming to fruition.
To be fair this was never meant to be, but, after comments from a few here n there, and a few requests I've decided to have another go.

I've organised and held many meets over the years, last count around 20+ and open to one and all, old cars, new cars, young and old, no matter.
We've had 15 car events, 20 car events and up to 60 cars at one Crieff event, along with goody bags, prizes and raffles worth £4k etc etc given away,

This planned bigger event is for the X351 only and hopefully we can make it one to remember, following on from last year. No frills, just a good ole car meet / lunch etc. The aim?
We all laugh and joke about the XJ X351 being thin on the ground ( hence the XJ X351 spotting thread ) Lets get a few together!

See last years event here CREWE HALL Sun 5th June 2022 XJ X351 meet event

I'd like to see if we can get 50 or more in the one place at the same time, more would be better still, a world record for them in one place at one time, other than at the factory lol.
A chance to meet members I've never met, see their cars, put faces to names and chalk that off the list.
The plan is to meet for lunch at Crewe Hall at 1pm, see address details / info below.

Meeting on site at 11am ( a little earlier if possible, but there for 12pm ) with lunch at 1pm
This allows time for parking and a little social gathering / banter etc before lunch
Assuming lunch will be an hour or so, with a little more craic to be had afterwards and people can get away from around 4pm or whatever suits.
Directly after lunch, we can organise the photo opportunity for the thread and possible magazine inclusion. This will be a better flow

Due to the success of last year, we're hoping for similar numbers or better

The size of the XJ X351 has been discussed many times, none more so that with the forthcoming meet event.
"Acreage" was one word used recently, as in, we need a lot of it lol.

Crewe Hall Hotel (somewhere Tress and I have stayed several times and know quite well) looked after us well last year and I see no reason why that shouldn't be the same again this year, plus I couldn't think of anywhere more centrally located within the Country, with ease of access for all.

The 17th Century mansion is more than spacious enough to meet all our needs and then some, we may even pick up some culture along the way, who knows.

Parking shouldn't be a problem. We have a specially designated car park for Jaguar XJ X351 ONLY

Although, generally speaking, they only offer cold buffet / sandwiches, they are putting on a carvery style lunch for us on the day, labelling it "Jaguar Club carvery"

The costs are £25.00 per head, payable in advance. I'll be in touch re payments best directly to bank account although Paypal may be an option

The facilities and grounds are awesome, lots to see and do for anyone that has a mind and generally a little bit more special and a good fit for the cars on the day, a really good fit.

29.12.2022 today and the gathering on 04th June 2023, so a little over 5 months away so everybody can get organised well in advance

Would love to see you all there in your X351's, could be quite good!

We now have most attendees fully paid up, places guaranteed on the day, thank you!
To secure your place, please make payment as soon as possible.

Crewe Hall hotel have been working with us and added to numbers available twice now, although we may still have to work on the car park issue / non issue
Working to organise a few bits n pieces that will add a flavour to the day, will hopefully finalise in the coming month or so, then update here.
Hopefully be an article in the Jag mags to help further promote this event, and more.......

Just to be clear about JimC64's cleaning task....

My man has recently fitted aftermarket Chinese mudflaps, designed to stop this exact sort of mudplugger thing.

Assuming it's up for any kind of mud splattering forward momentum at all...

So bring the fairy liquid and a sponge JimC64 🤣
Nooooooo Fairy liquid might be gentle with your hands and dishes, but it'll most surely f^$)^ up one's paintwork

There's been a hose pipe ban in Cornwall & N. Devon since last August, half of the rest of Devon has just joined us..

Trouble with mudflaps is that the mud on the car looks infinitely better than mudflaps. Especially after a month or 2 when they start falling off.

But my 49p sponge will protect the paintwork whilst rubbing against all that dirt.

I insist on a hosepipe ban around my house, else I would be expected to wash the car more than twice a year. And that ain't ever gonna happen until the Eastern Europeans we turfed out following the referendum return.

Contact with Crewe Hall again this morning...

Confirmed car park for Jaguar use only, plus half a dozen or so spaces at the entrance to the car park, the smaller walled off car park area for private use of Swansway Jaguar.
Around possibly a dozen or more, maybe 20 cars / 30 people or so arriving Saturday night, although some may be staying remotely at Premier Inns or similar. The car parks surrounding trees and bushes have been trimmed. Car park should be sign posted, see map below.
We're having dinner at 7pm and then retiring to the bar area in the brasserie afterwards, there should be more than a few having a drink and the craic, so see you there.

Follow the arrows coming down the avenue of trees at the entrance. PLEASE NOTE the speed bump highlighted in yellow, which is quite vicious, advised to slow right down!
First left and car park marked with red X first on the left, although won't be in real life ;)

Extra long hose left out for any that want to tidy up any parts of their vehicles, as per last year.

Continental suite booked for private use for Jaguar event only for 120 people, tables set aside for use for MMM for model display adjacent.
There will be a bar within the Continental suite for anyone that requires soft or alcoholic drinks.
Carvery lunch with apple pie / custard dessert.
Drone use permitted on the day and factored in.
Jaguar XJ Ring taxi on display, as brought by Jaguar Heritage
Swansway Jaguar in attendance with cars on the day

On the day

1. Officially starting at 11am, but many having arrived on the Saturday, and most arriving earlier on the Sunday from perhaps 10am or so, possibly earlier.
2. Red, white and blue cars arranged in parking spaces per Crewe Hall "XJ X351 Gathering" #2 Sun 4th June...
3. Check out cars, pics, chat and craic etc until lunch at 1pm, leaving the car park around 12.50pm to make our way there, get seated etc
4. Lunch, with prize draw as the lunch part comes to a close, giving away approx £2,700.00 of prizes, with everyone a fair chance of winning. We'll try to get through this as quickly as possible.
5. Looking to close out the event around 5pm thereabouts to allow people to make their way home

Thanks

And as if by magic, my sub 250g one has just arrived back from DJI earlier this week, following its repair (well, replacement) for a camera issue.

Just a thought . . . ( ;) )

If anyone who is going to this get-together is interested in the Nextbase dashcam I am selling HERE
I can bring it with me.
Again, I will consider any REASONABLE offer.

If you can make a sale and do yourself some good and get another member a good purchase at a good price, win, win........why not John.

You couldn't write the script, 5 months in and only a little over a week to go and one of the attendees on the day has brought up another Jaguar dealer that's interested in being part of the day too!!

Something else really, but to be fair, Swansway Jaguar have stepped up from the very beginning in all communications and responses, can't fault them.

A few finishing touches to sort out my end, then some work on the car over the weekend and early next week

Lol too many and not enough all at once is the answer I believe

10 sleeps to go until C day!

I'm heading down early doors Saturday morning to get a few bits n bobs sorted, but considering heading down Friday and staying at my sisters in Stoke.

Weather checked and seems fairly ok if its to be believed, around 20 degrees and sunny / partly cloudy supposedly.......I'll take that.
