Hi maybe looking at getting another Jag after I sold my S type 3 years ago. Fancying an X type diesel either 2.0 or 2.2 not too fussed if the spec and condition is right. The only thing I will not do is buy one with a DPF fitted as I had no end of problems the one fitted to my S type ???

When did they start fitting X types with DPF's and how do you know if it has one fitted ? Im looking at up to a 2006 reg no younger than that.

Only 2.2d were ever fitted with them.someone will be along to advise which vin ranges/spec they were fitted to.

Im sure it was the later facelift 2.2 diesel models that were fitted with the DPF so you should be ok with a 2006 2.2 diesel. I have a 2.2 D (56 plate) Sport and there is not a DPF on my car

I have an 06 2.2D Sport and there is no DPF on it, I'm sure it was the later facelifted cars that were fitted with DPFs.

That's correct (2007) but there was an option to have one from new if you wanted it. Email Jaguar and ask them to check against the reg. or VIN. I had exactly the same requirement and they were very helpful. I bought a 2007 MY Sovereign 2.2
