As I've already said, it's sod's law since it's getting sold.
I have spent a decent amount on the car, especially around the last 2 MOT's but throughout the past 2 years it's been generally very reliable for the age and miles. Only show stopper was an ABS sensor that meant the gearbox wouldn't go up the gears but other than that it's been tyres and servicing.
Will see if they see anything obvious but I will mention it as well. The car has obviously sat about for a while not doing any miles until I drove it to work the other day(before finding out the power steering leak wasn't insignificant).
The window switches were broken when I bought my 2003 XJR. I already had a spare X type switch unit which looked the same. However, the pins and underside were different. I managed to dismantle both of them and use the rocker switches to rebuild the XJ switch.
If you do this, watch for the switch pivot pins. They are easy to lose.
