DSC system fault

Can someone please help me with this? What does it mean on my dash that says DSC system fault, it comes on as soon as I astart the car, is it hurting my car that im driving it with this on? I have no idea what it means or how to even fix it, the car runs great and no issues except for that. It's a 2005 X-type with the 3.0, thank you for all your help

HI, its usually down to a wheel speed sensor. Not dangerous as it does not affect normal operation of the braking system. It just means you do not have the comfort of knowing the car will automatically do what one used to do manually in an emergency. Needs to be sorted though as it is an MOT failure.

It will also mean that cruise control will not be available, anychance you could get a code read? it would help a lot
