Hi all,

Just passing on a bit of information for anyone who may be interested or had the same fault code.

Got an amber engine symbol flash up the other day.

Diagnostics showed a fuel pressure fault P0087.

As advised in the report, car taken to dealer (under warranty), new diesel filter fitted - problem solved.

The AA guy who came out said that this is not uncommon on modern diesel engines if the filter is ready for a change especially in cold weather, which this was - first frost of the year.

Mines a 2.2d Sportbrake.

Further to this - After the Filter change the MPG has gone up by about 4-5mpg which is nice, so maybe worth the stress of the engine warning appearing…

Oh, also, there didn't seem to be any lack of performance with the car pre the warning popping up, running normal before and after it appeared.

Had the same on my xtype 2.2 many years ago. Went into limp mode while overtaking a hgv. I changed the filter more regularly than recommended after that.
