Very likely a split or dislodged turbo hose causing the car to go into limp mode. Lots of threads about it on here. Usually the fix is easy and cheap (replacement hose and/or jubilee clips).

Could also be a failed turbo actuator, seized turbo or worn injectors etc.

I agree, but best to start with the easiest (and cheapest) possibilities.

Would help others if you put your vehicle details in your signature strip.

If you have a code reader then the easiest thing to do is to read the codes. If the coil light is flashing then it will have brought up a code that will point you in the right direction. If you haven't an OBD2 code reader then they are available quite cheaply on Ebay. Even the cheap ones are pretty useful.
