Front Speaker upgrades?

Hi the rear speakers sound lovely and have bass in my x type however the fronts are horrible and passenger side only distorts when the bass level is turned up over half.

What size speakers will fit the front? Also do I need adapters to fit the front speakers.

I put 6 inch focals in mine and used speaker adapters for Vauxhall / Astra/ Vectra.

Would 6.5 inch ones fit by any chance? Would I still need those adapters. Could you post a link please to the relevant adapters? Thank you

Don't know about the 6.5 inch ones but probably will with 6.5 adapters.
Think it's more the depth of the speaker not hitting the window.

From memory I didn't use the flat round pieces or the connectors and had to drill a couple of extra holes.
While i was in there I put some insulation inside the doors.
My speakers were two way speakers so I left the old tweeter connection off ( one of them wasn't working anyway)

No. The speakers came with adapters but weren't needed for my set up.
