Merry Christmas everyone, big day been and gone, hopefully you all got spoilt.
Me, I got new polishing pads for my DA, a box full of Microfiber cloths along with the usual T shirts and other similar “your no longer a kid” stuff.
I also got a Firestick for the car and a natty T shirt.

My new phone contract has unlimited data so no need to worry about tethering for too long now.

Well done on the Firestick. Just did mine last week "because I could". I do have 40GB of data per month on my 18 month 4G 3 sim, so may atleast try and use some of it

Yeah, thats what they’ll do… Not holding my breath on that one though… I don't know which carrier JLR use in the UK, but Vodafone are turning off 3G end of by December 2023, but in phases so some areas go within a few months :(...

(... although I freely admit that it is difficult to remember what is relevant to the conversation when people like me are around to destroy the train of thought)
Yes, I meant that I can use the firestick to stream with my 3G. As I am with Three and they will switch off 3G by end of 2024. Which means I should be okay to use the firestick and stream all the way into 2024 at some point and then the streaming will stop when the 3G is switched off.
In short, my firestick will be good well into 2024 fingers crossed
Never used 3G to stream? I wonder how good this would actually be with the high quality these things try to run at?
That’s why I had planned to tether off my phone.
For me it’s really a back up, having 2 64gb memory sticks with movies, an iPod with music along with the DVD player with a pile of cartoons loaded on a disc kept in place. (Other DVD’s stores in the glovebox too).
