Hi all,

I have read the very good guide on GSM to Bluetooth, but i have a few questions-

- where is the GSM module whiich is under the arm rest?
- i know i need to get the 2 modules (1 in boot and the one under arm rest) but do i need to get the wiring plugs which plug into these?

Mine has voice with the jag phone at present which can't get a signal.

Thanks Simon.

i would think your gsm module [phone module] is in the boot[ l/h side coupled into your voice module via db2 cable. your gsm phone will need to be diconnected in the armrest, then this is were the bluetooth module plugs in replacing your gsm phone. but 3 more wires will need to be added as in the write up.
So theres no gsm module under the arm rest, its the phone its self!
the short answer is yes. Have you got a phone in your armrest?if so follow the wire from the phone and it will go into a connector were you can unplug and then plug in the new bluetooth module. if you havnt got a phone you will find the socket/plug under the lining of the storage box in your armrest, which in my car is retained by 2 little screws in opposite corners. note im saying all this assuming your m.y. is similair to mine!!! The phone module fits in the boot
But do i need any new plugs?

no you dont need any new plugs you are already prewired. take the plug out of your old phone module in the boot and plug it into your new phone module, out of a 2005.5 car or later. unplug your phone out of the armrest and plug in your new bluetooth module. you will then have to modify the wires going from your armrest to the phone plug in the boot as described in that GSM to Bluetooth guide. hope this helps.
