Is it easy/possible to do a quick yearly service myself and whats involved?

Jaguar X-Type 2.0 D 2003 72,000 miles

I've booked an Oil filter change with national tyres online for @£50

So what else is there to do as the MOT covers safety checks

Air Filter maybe?

If you look in the X Type Petrol and Diesel Service schedules STICKY in the X Type forum there is a link to the Jaguar service sheets http://lolinternet.co.uk/jag/x-type_jtp981.pdf for the 2.0d that dealers use which list what is required for each service.You can then download it as a pdf and print it off
Assuming your car has a full service history so far it will be due its 9th service as servicing is every 1 year/12500 miles whichever comes soonest so yours is from age (so count along from the left up to 6 and start again on the left and count another 3 bring you to the 37.5k service for your cars year) so oil/oil filter air ,pollen and fuel filters due.

Next year when its 10 yrs old it will be due a bigger service (brake fluid(every 2 years)/coolant(as every 5 years)/drive belts front and rear (every 10 yrs)
