All untested as they have been uploaded using my phone!

I created these images to make it a little easer to get up and running with JLR SDD and have continued to host and share to the community for 7 years+.

The reason they are in Virtual Machines is that the older versions run older windows, but can be easily run on new OS's using Oracles VirtualBox.
(Windows, MacOS, Linux)

This is simply for future availability and keeping the install in a self contained environment. So it is easier and far quicker to reinstall, than if it was installed natively.
(If something goes wrong!)

As it is a VM, you only have to install VirtualBox on systems where native installs might be frowned upon like a works laptop for example.

Over the years I have seen these links appear on commercial sites selling products.
You should never pay for these images!

I will request if you download or use anything I supply!
You give a few pennies to animal charity.

I take no responsibility for any damage to equipment or car with use of this software!

The software is clean and only misuse or inexperience, will cause any issues.

I also in no way lay claim to this software as my own
Any copyright is held by their respective holders.

(I just made it easy to install)

Also a basic level of PC knowledge is advisable!

Also the software is what it is!
Its a powerful tool even without a Topix subscription.
Unfortunately some aspects will always be pay-walled behind that subscription.
That is something I can not or ever will be able to change!

Do not activate any kind of online connection in the virtual machine or native install.
It is Cracked/Hacked software!
While it is limited in some aspects, it is still a vital tool in fault finding and repair
Allowing it online, it will try to update itself to the latest version.
Overwriting what every method that was used to allow it to be cracked.
Then you will need to pay for a Topix subscription to continue it's use.
Pricing for a single model, ranges from ÂŁ33p/h up to ÂŁ1,192 per year (UK)

Thanks again for these... they really do make installing and using IDS/SDD much simpler for everyone. I have a standalone laptop running 130 but installed the VirtualBox VM on my primary Windows 10 laptop and it works a treat.

Just one question... are there any benefits to using v138, or indeed drawbacks to using it?

#4 ·
I don't think there is much difference, but am led to believe 138 has some missing modules. So i only use the diagnostic side and the interface is a slightly better than 130. I left the Land Rover files off as well, so if your working with Land Rovers then 130 is your only choice.

130 is the best all round choice and as its from 2012. Most of the cars i will ever mess around with are covered (Still would love a x351!).
Yep that's what I thought about v138 being a bit less functional without paying for keys. But as I had only ever used v130 I thought I'd ask an expert!

I've migrated from Ford IDS to SDD now i have bought an XF. I have downloaded your files and it boots up successfully, however i cannot get it recognise the mongoose cable corrrectly.

Have you tried full CCF modification as i too wish to enable the voice function on the XF. Fords and X Types are easy as i've done literally hundreds of those, but this beast is giving me real grief.

Do we know if there is a crack available to bypass the 'Download missing CCF Files' request i keep getting?

Also, have you tried using the 'Softwaredownload.htm' file within IDS? that allows full engineering access, however i am still being asked to download missing files from the JLR server

All help appreciated

have you enabled the usb device in the drop down menu at the top of the VirtualBox window?

#8 ·
Sorry, It just worked for me, after enabling the 'Drew' USB device.

#9 ·
I've just muttered some profanity at it and its caved in and started working...

Next hurdle is to get the network link to go green so it bypasses the 'Download' dialogue box i keep getting...

I have JRL IDS on another PC, which connects to the car, with ALL the necessary calibration files installed into another local folder on the laptop, but for the life of me i cannot find the correct procedure to enable the microphone on the NCM module...

Apparantly thats all i need to do to get the 'COMMS' function up on the display screen.....

#10 ·
Unfortunately I have no experience with the XF.
With all the little pointers from the various Forums AND the files provided on this link, i have now managed to enable Jaguar Voice in my XF.:mrgreen::mrgreen:

Massive thanks to everyone who contributed!

A couple of brown trouser moments when it was downloading its modified CCF but after a couple of changes i realized that all this was normal.

#11 ·
Quote from Stratstone when it was in for a service was the usual " No, it cant be fitted unless its an option at build"...

Massive thankyou to a gentleman called Reg Graham from one of the other forums also, he pointed me in the right direction, especially around the Softwaredownload.htm function which gives you full control over the parameter files (to be used with caution though)

Only downside at the moment is even though the COMMS screen shows phone options, i have lost bluetooth. Thats a job for tomorrow i think...

Once again... Thanks....

does the processor in your laptop support virtualisation? And is it enabled in the laptop bios? Also, how much memory has your laptop got? And disk space? Haven't been able to view the image you uploaded on my iPad.

#15 ·
Got it working at last ..... had to try it on an older laptop with windows 7 on it which was about to be chucked in a skip lol.
My original laptop had windows 10 on it and really had issues with virtual box .
All is good now and hopefully I will be able to add my new injector codes when they arrive . Been putting up will limp mode for about 3 years now and it's time to put the original injectors out to pasture and maybe I'll be able to accelerate up hills again

Thanks for the help with the install

#16 ·
Glad you got it working in the end.
Odd that you should have issues with VirtualBox on Windows 10 though. If anything, it should be more at home on the latest OS. Oh well. It's working and that's all that matters.

Hi All,

I need some expert advice please. This is the story so far. I loaded mongoose sdd v130 on my xp laptop, all loaded perfect and it will connect to my 2013 Land rover evoque, wasn't sure if it would read it but it did. All was going great and I got to reset the service required on startup. then I tried to modify some of the settings and when I went to run on sdd to change a setting it came up with a popup box saying that my software was out of date and cannot modify anything until I download an update. Thanks to themindbuddah here on the forum he quickly showed me my mistake. the date had not changed on sdd v130 and was running 09.07.2018.

So then I did a full reinstall of xp and sdd v130 making sure that the date 08.08.2012 was set when installing it and also when connecting it to the car. install went perfect and connects and reads the car automatically, but now any time I try to change or modify any setting in the car I keep getting the popup message that my software is out of date and need to be updated before I change any vehicle module settings

My question is has SDD stored a date setting somewhere in my car because the laptop has a fresh clean build with the correct date 08.08.2012

Is there any way around this, what are my options now.

I would appreciate any help or advice anyone can give me

Thanks

Have you attempted to download the file again? It could be a problem with your download rather than the source file.

#23 · (Edited)
All works fine now. The problem was my Virtual Box version. I updated the software to the most recent version 5.2.16, which I missed until today. This version was, to my surprise, able to handle the import of the appliance. The old VB Manager from the beginning of the year 2018 failed.

I might give neverware a chance although the machine runs on an old 1st gen. i7 with 16GB and an SSD with more than sufficient speed and also finds our old S-Type.

My apologies. :)

I've downloaded all the relevant files from you TheMindBudda, many thanks, and a donation to my nearest cat protection charity will be forthcoming.
Also obtained a Mongoose cable today.
After a couple of false starts the virtual machine on my laptop recognised the cable and hooked up to my X-Type.
Next step over the weekend is to work my way through the SDD and get it to programme the CD Autochanger with the head unit.

Dan,
I'm using a couple of years old Lenovo laptop that's running Windows 8 prior to installing TheMindBudda's files . I'm using the Virtual Machine to run XP Pro and SDD 138.
I followed TheMindBudda's instructions to the letter and found it took a couple of attempts..... including stepping away, having a break and a coffee and going back again. Make sure you go into Details and enable USB and Drew so that the cable is recognised.

After a bit of delving through other threads and posts about using SDD I have worked out how to get my CD Autochanger programmed in the X-Type :)
I now have a spare cassette adapter should I decide to go back to listening to radio tracks from my phone.

Due to a technical error on my part I ordered too many Mongoose cables and now have two surplus unopened Mongoose cables should any Forum member want first dibs on one. ÂŁ30 each with free P&P.
PM me for details on making payment.

If no one wants them I will put them up on eBay next month.
