I did a 280 mile run on Saturday morning(2.20 am)from J28 M1 to Edinburgh.Set the cruise to 84(My speedo is 5mgh out on the plus side)and made a note before starting of my mileage.Turns out that I was getting 39 mpg(worked out when I filled up to come back and not what the car was telling me) which I must say I'm very happy with to say its a 3.0ltr.

The XF is a super smooth motorway cruiser.

Went to the National Railway Museum at York over the half term (A1 all the way, 4 up with light overnight luggage). Trip showed 240 miles and 50mpg. It was raining/damp on the back and the drag on the tyres from the surface water dropped the mpg back to 45mpg. Not bad for the X-Type 2.2D auto.

Although I only got 6mpg in my V12.
