Just wondering where this weeks update with the list of attendees is.

You people are doing my head in. I just spent five minutes trying to figure out if this was natural English or Yoda-speak.

Jaguars at the Lakes 2022

Introducing the "Jaguars at the Lakes 2022" weekend event...

Friday 1st - Sunday 3rd April 2022

With people traveling from across the UK, many have opted to reserve rooms at the Premier Inn Ulverston for the Friday AND Saturday evenings, and even some for the Sunday night also.

Join us in the hotel restaurant and bar on the Friday evening to jump start a forum gathering like no other.

After a good nights sleep, and perhaps a hearty breakfast, we have a 10 minute drive in convoy-ish to the Lakeland Motor Museum to take up our places, as a group, alongside the Lakeland Historic Car Club. Mingle with the locals, viewing the car club and museum exhibits before heading over to the Lakeside and Haverthwaite Steam Railway.

After a chance to explore the station we board our historic steam train to take us to Lakeside where we embark on our Lake Windermere cruise to Bowness - with plenty of time to wander around, grab a spot of lunch, drink coffee and perhaps even take in attractions, it's entirely up to you - before cruising back down to Lakeside and our return steam train ride.

Night at the Motor Museum Dinner

A little bit of time to put your feet up, freshen up and perhaps even dress up for our exclusive "Night at the Motor Museum" dinner. A 2-course meal in the surroundings of the motor museum complete with private access to all the exhibits. Then a chance to unwind with some drinks back in the hotel bar.

Pass to the Lake

Sunday is a more sedate day - as we traverse the spectacular Kirkstone Pass en route to the Inn on the Lake for a spot of lunch in the Lake View Restaurant overlooking Ullswater.

We have secured a group booking discount for the Motor Museum, Steam Railway and Lake Cruise. Planning is continuing to make this a Jaguar weekend to remember, along with a few 'surprises'.

Payment for the Motor Museum, Steam Train, Lake Cruise, Saturday evening dinner and Sunday afternoon lunch will be due in March, a couple of weeks before the weekend. 2022 season rates for some activities are still being decided but the approximate costs are:
  • Motor Museum, Steam Train and Lake Cruise - £23
  • A Night at the Motor Museum Dinner - £19.95
  • 3-course Sunday Lunch at the Inn on the Lake - £26.95
Full details of dinner menus will be available soon and I will be taking note of any dietary requirements and food allergies.

HOTEL RESERVATIONS

Early hotel reservations are strongly recommended! Rooms are limited and as of 12th January our attendees have booked 71 rooms across the weekend, at the Premier Inn, Ulverston.

The Premier Inn use demand-based pricing. The Flex booking rate has increased significantly since we started planning this event in October 2021, but the Advance "pay now cancel up to 28 days before" rate is still reasonable despite also increasing.

The Advance rate for Friday night is £73 and Saturday night £100 (correct as of 12th January). These are per room rates, not per person. Advance bookings can be cancelled up to 28 days prior to the check-in date.

I did an update on Tuesday I think (when I had to change the format due to the post being too large and max'ing out forum post limits) so didn't want to do another so close.

Turns out it wasn't necessary Mark,

I was a tad confused with England's member roll call and an XE being added, I thought I was in this thread :ROFLMAO:

Coffee for Ashanti, Coffee for Ashanti!

Yep, the XE in question had been invited to join us some time ago but unfortunately the driver cannot make it. :-(

Can't Mackem bring it? Swindon must be close to North Wiltshire!

(... and we have plenty of X-Type estates)
