Hi All

My 61 Mk2 3.4 has no problem starting on the flat, starts starts right up. The carbs have been rebuilt and balanced, the float height fork has been set to 11mm. When the jets have been set level in the carbs you can see the fuel. The fuel pump is new and the filter is clean. The auxiliary carb has petrol.

When trying to start on a hill it refuses to start. A friend lifted the pistons in the carbs slightly while I cranked and it fired up.

Does anyone have an explanation or cure for this please?

Thank you.

Something is not right within the carbs, irrespective of being rebuilt. Time to take them back out and investigate further.

PROBLEM SOLVED.

Just needed to open the slow running valves 1 turn each to allow more air in.
