Well I finally got the car today, very late home as the dealer thought I was picking it up tomorrow ☹.
I had to wait for it to get back from the valet/detailer. Must say it was worth the 5 hour delay, however I did miss the Mercedes, the distronic cruise control is one of the best on the market.
That said I'm very happy with the Jag, it does feel quite firm over a roads but nice and smooth on the motorway.
I guess the sporty 20" and low profile tyres has a price over comfort, however the drivers seat is certainly better than the Mercedes (in my opinion).
Mrs Boz found the Jag very (nice) although not overjoyed, it's just a big car to Mrs Boz, she likes the colour though 👍
Now that I have managed to get it into the garage I have several jobs to do before I can play with the Jag.
Namely converting the son a horsebox into a pizza stall/mobile (I know 😂 but that's what he wants)
Mrs B has several jobs in the garden, it's a small price to pay, so update sometime soon.
I will get some pictures if I can manage to post them, I have just sold a couple of my classic cars, 1967 Wolseley 6/110, and a 1978 Mg Midget, along with a 1954 Ferguson T20.
If anyone is interested in the Wolseley 6/110 I have posted a rebuild blog on YouTube, the link is here.

Enjoy, Boz.

Well tomorrow is my first outing in the car since purchase 1 month ago, apart from the run to Doncaster for the service etc.
Myself and Mrs Boz are going to Hardwick Hall again (5 times) I don't mind because it's a lovely day out at a great national trust house.
The car is gleaming as I have polished it twice while sitting in the garage, hopefully I will get some pictures, Boz.
C'mon Boz, enquiring minds want to know, how'd your day go?

Well just got back from our day out 16.30, we had a lovely time at Hardwick Hall, then stopped off in Gainsborough for a carvery lunch.
The car went very well, it was our first trip out in it since purchase, I am surprised at the fuel economy for such a large car, I haven't put any extra fuel in it yet, and have done over a couple of hundred miles on the £50 I put in initially from reserve.
I did notice just how long the car is when parking in car parks and bays, all in all I'm happy with it, getting used to things air con, sat nav, radio etc, remembering what does what.
Mrs B likes it, I think I will take a little longer before I can relax, unfortunately I forgot to take any pictures ☹ Boz

Great news David.

Yes, long long car, takes a bit of getting used too for sure.

Fuel economy can be great, seen 58.5 mpg before and managed 852.5 miles on one tank, BUT, that was on a long chilled out, relaxed run. You could expect 600 miles to a tank on a longish easy run no problems though.

No pics though......that's a fail ;)

Regarding economy, clearly not trying hard enough, LOL.

Today, I set out for Londonium with only just over a quarter of a tank. Suffering complete and utter CBA to go to a fuel station, added to the fact it was in works time, I stuck to the limits. Wow, got back, and it was showing just under quarter of a tank.

Fear not, it won't last, I'll be back to my average of 32mpg soon.

Only Euro 6 cars use Addblue, a 2013 will be Euro 5.

Well about 350 miles done today without issues, there are one or two or three little niggles I have to address.
1st being a very slight vibration on left wheel, probably balancing needed, 2nd the start stop only works when it feels like it.
I am not concerned about it but as seen on other posts this is a common issue, however I feel as did the OP on that thread if it's fitted I want it to work, I know I can turn it off if I choose but I would like it to work.
3rd issue is the cruise control, it's working as it should, however I'm used to the adaptive control on my Mercedes, I just haven't got used to this yet.
4th is the dab radio it doesn't auto seek to find the strongest signal automatically, so I have to auto select when signal area changes, just something else to get used too.
Other than that the day was good, Attingham park and Hall was very enjoyable, Boz.
Sorry still no pictures ☹

Sounds like its worth getting a balance check done David, for sure.

As for stop / start. If using the brakes very lightly I find the stop / start doesn't necessarily have to kick in, pressing a little firmer and boom, in it comes.
I can't remember, but did you say the battery was original or replaced?

No issue with cruise control for me, but not a fan of adaptive in any case so doesn't really affect me, don't tend to listen to the radio too much either, but no issues with DAB for me as afar as I'm aware.

Glad you had a good day out, lack of pics though, shocking lol

I find the stop/start works less frequently if the air con or heating is working harder to get to the set temperature.

There are a string of things that have to align in order for Stop/ Start to work, and (as Jim says) careful application of the brakes can defeat it even if it would have worked..

In my car it only works after I have done a long run (100+ miles) in the car, or I have had it on the CTEK overnight.

My stop/start works too well, real pain in the neck. Even in the morning, just started drove to the end of the road, stop at first set of traffic lights a few 100 metres from the house and bam, thing cuts out. I need to be really gentle with the brakes but I’m a crap driver so I guess it could be Jaguars way of training us to gently slow down in advance or something?

perhaps I have been too hard on the brakes, next run out I will try less effort and see what happens, I tried harder braking yesterday and it didn't work,🤔, Boz.

The DAB radio is pretty poor - reception especially.

There is a setting to enable “DAB-Link”, and that will automatically change the channel for national radio stations like the BBC’s. Mine works with this and it follows you around the country.

I mostly listen to Greatest Hits radio though (50 yesterday!) and that doesn’t change automatically. I have the six presets set for my common journeys and I have to manually switch en route.

Ditto on the "greatest hits" radio, guess I will just have to auto tune when boundaries crossed.
