So I finally bit the bullet and bought an iPace. I found a late 2019 iPace SE in corris grey with only 22k on the clock from Grange Jaguar Swindon. The deal was impressive, £3k dealer contribution, free wall charger and installation, 2 year extended warranty, next service is free.

I said goodbye to the XF, it’s done me well and hardly ever put a foot wrong. Someone will get a good car there.

Started off with a near full battery.

I done 87 miles, the range went down 96 miles. Not too bad at all I think seeing as I was hooning it a few times as the acceleration is addictive! The tech on the SE is quite impressive, the adaptive cruise with stop and go is a nice addition too.

Ah... end of another era for you and the start of a brand new and exciting journey!

It only seems like yesterday that I was relatively new to the forum and following as you were eagerly anticipating the arrival of your brand new XE. And then along came the XF amidst the pandemic. Undoubtedly your experience and wisdom with the XF had a strong influence with my acquisition of Rosso late last year.

And now - here we go again.

Looking forward to seeing it at the weekend. And looking forward to following your journey!

Nice one!

Happy new car day Ian!

Good call on getting a side by side shot, new v old, one to look back on.

Someone will be getting a nice XF there, although probably with a shed load of upgrades removed ;) and already on Ebay

Quite classy and understated, the new ride.

Hope she serves you well

Congratulations, sir.

I presume that you will waste no time murdering this one out too?

Already planned to do window tints. One thing I haven’t shown on here is the full length panoramic UV tinted roof, I’m so glad I found one with that option as it’s fantastic with the amount of light it lets in. I removed the dynamic sweep indicators off the XF to fit on the iPace. Black pack for the 22MY onwards do all black badging. As for the wheels, we’ll see on that one as I quite like these for now.

I remember now the Documentary on the development of this model . They did a superb job and it has to be the best looking EV in its class. The guy I saw reviewing it said on the test drive when they got to a dual Carriageway he was told to floor it and he was convinced in that one moment to buy the Car.

I did an ‘art of performance’ day back in 2018 when the iPace was just released. I got to drive one for a few hours and have a pro driver take me round part of the hill climb, even back then I knew I wanted one, they handle so well with all the weight being so low down in the car.

Congrats Ian, looks great, drives great and impressive mileage considering the little Jaguar devil on your shoulder whispering in your ear, "go on, floor it, it's a Jag!"....what's not to like!

I had an I-PACE out on 24 hour test drive. Fantastic car, I loved driving it. The acceleration was, indeed, startling and addictive. However it wasn't as comfortable as the X250 XF 3.0d that I was used to plus the suspension was firmer. I still toyed with the idea of leasing one, but then the lease rates jumped up. I binned the idea and went for an X260 XF S Supercharged instead. I am sure Greta would have huffed had she heard!

Enjoy the I-PACE and I am sure your journeys will be ever more interesting!

Well done Ian, car looks amazing.

Looking forward to reading all about it to make us all change our mind and go and get one 🤣.

That's a really nice colour combination Ian - think it suits the lines of the iPace well. You did well to get a free home charger and installation included - our neighbour had one installed and cost him about £1500 if I recall. Will be interested to read your real world perspective of living with an EV!

It looks like a very nice car.

I have a question concerning your first post. Why does an EV need stop and go. I would had thought that once you stop the electric motors would be stopped.
I am a bit confused here.

The adaptive cruise scans the vehicle in front and can slow the car right down to a stop depending on the traffic. Then when the traffic move up to speed again, it brings the car right up to the speed you originally selected. All that happens without doing anything at all.

Enjoy, we have had a 590 for just over 2 years now (21MY HSE nick named woosh) and its been faultless.

Hopefully the SOTA campaigns landed ok ;)

Basically it's Queue Assist but removing the need to press the accelerator to get moving again and back into "follow mode"? Sounds good!

Yes, they both came through as I left the dealer. It got a bit confused with itself having to update both at the same time, but all done now, thanks! :)

Did you buy it from Jaguar main dealer ?. I was wondering what after sales would be like from an Non Jag Dealer.
Congrats - I look forward to hearing how you get on with it.
