Hi all...

I'm based in New Zealand.

Currently considering the purchase of my first Jaguar as a reward for my hard work over the decades.

A friend has two S Types. One is the supercharged V8, the other is 2.7 diesel.

While I am impressed with the V8, practicality and fuel prices here steer me towards a diesel.

I like the style of the S Type, however, with very few diesel models in NZ I will probably end up with an XF.

Looking forward to being a part of the forum.

Hi there, welcome aboard

If you do go for the 2.7Tdvi engine, or even the 3.0d perhaps, they're great engines and run well. Please just be aware of potential oil dilution issues and look to do very regular oil changes and all will be well.

Hope you find the car you're looking for
Jim

HI there, I had the 2.7d some years ago. Post 2005 they introduce DPF's the earlier models exhaust tips curve down. Cracking Cars sticking turbo accuators a problem largely through lack of use you needed to give the Car a good healthy thrashing now and again. Performance is more than enough and they are a very comfortable long distance cruiser. For the money they fetch even a low mileage one will be great value for what you get.
