My front and rear parking sensors have stopped working , asked a mechanic to check out,he replace a sensor he thought was faulty, still not working, he suggests fitting a replacement module which can be expensive esp if this is not the problem, also says it may have to be programmed to suit car, is there any way the module can be repaired or tested to see if that is the problem, 2009 x type ??
Thanks for any info

If the module has got wet then that could be the problem - X-Type boots are prone to leakage - so if all the sensors don't work then that could indeed be why. Try checking all the connections by pulling them out and re-inserting them. Do the reversing lights still work? Did the mechanic check the reversing-light switch just beneath the battery?

Also.... There is a fuse in the glovebox, I forget the number but just look up X type fuses on t'net. Secondhand modules aren't too dear: try Autoreserve. Make sure you get one for front and rear sensors: rear only is a different model. The module has a type number printed on. Finally, no reprogramming required. There are several related posts on here if you search .
