Passed her first MOT

Sailed through the first MOT but picked up advisories on the 2 rear tyres. Easily 3.5 mm tread across the tyres apart from the outside edge where it was badly worn - and its not even the rear wheel drive.

Both rears did have slow leaks and that turned out to be a nail in each so I don't know how they passed inspection at all. Given the advisory I bit the bullet and rather than getting them repaired splashed out on 2 new Avon ZV5's from Halfords Autocentre. Book online and you save around 30%!

Courtesy car was a 2.2 stop-start XF premium luxury. Nice but appalling boot opening and I felt every bump in the road. I mentioned this when returning it and the service manager said that most of his customers had reported the ride was a bit firm. Anyone else think that Jaguar have stopped making sporty luxury cars and now make luxury sports cars? My preference is always to err on the luxury side for ride comfort so I'm not happy with this change.

When you had the rear tyres fitted did they check the rear alignment?

Toe can be adjusted at the rear, I just had mine done after a bit of trouble at the back end.

Wear on the outer edge could mean too much toe in.

A foreign body in a tyre is not a reason for failure!
