Passenger airbag

Hi,

the Passenger airbag not on warning light comes on and off in my 08 xkr. Would anybody have experience of this or know how i can fix.

You'll need the car scanned for fault codes using a proper Jaguar-specific code reader or the official JLR SDD diagnostics software to know what's wrong there. Could be a fault in the airbag, a fault in the seat occupancy sensor, something battery-related, communications error between modules, any number of things...
Thanks 8bit, my young son was in the passenger seat at the time, so I will take the car for a run tomorrow and see if the airbag light flashes with no one in the passenger seat.

There is a seat occupancy / weight limit. It is designed so that when you install a rear facing child seat the airbag is switched off. I get this light on when my 3yr old sits in the front. It may be your son is too light to allow the airbag to be activated.
Sounds like this car is way too smart, definitely smarter than the driver :(
I'm happy to report it seems to be as TwoZeroAlpha mentioned, and just the weight sensor.
