Removing rear window wiper to grease (estate)

2629 Views 6 Replies 2 Participants Last post by  Danny
Hi, after reading the post here (http://www.jaguarforum.co.uk/f90/x-type-estate-rear-wiper-siezing-27044.html#post440406) I thought I'd give it a go as my wiper has seized. However, I've only managed to get so far and I can't seem to get the wiper shaft out.

Is there anything else I need to take off before it will come out? Doesn't seem to want to budge and I don't want to force it in case I break the glass :(

Appreciate any help.

Thanks,

Any ideas at all?

Would be much appreciated.

Thanks,

Thanks for the reply.
Does it look like I've removed everything necessary to be able to push it through (if it wasn't seized). If so I'll use mole grips and try to wiggle it out.

Thanks
Not to worry - as per the picture above everything is off that needs to be.

I gripped it with some mole grips and turned it slowly while tapping it and it came out. Cleaned everything out and stuck on some teflon grease, reassembled and now working perfectly.

Thanks once again to the forum :)
I have a similar issue with mine not working, fuses are OK so should the motor work if the tailgate is open?
I'm not sure but try and turn the wiper with the window open. Mine wouldn't move at all. After greasing it although there's a little bit of resistance it moves freely.

If yours is hard to turn then it'll be worth doing this

Cheers
