I read this morning that Matt Dawson agrees with me, or rather I agree with him! Adding to my earlier view, as Dawson quite rightly points out, it's going to be difficult to drop your appointed Captain but sooner or later I feel it's inevitable. I really think Smith and Tuilagi are a better option going forward, with Farrell on the bench.

He was saying that after the match, can’t fault the logic.

I see the competition winners coming from the Ireland v France match.
There is a lot of Rugby yet to be played but realistically the pressure is on Ireland to convert their #1 world ranking into a tournament win Grand slam or not... I think France are looking 7 months down the road.

It’s a fair point and I think England may well do the same.

I think it's a big mistake dropping Marcus Smith to the bench ... and excluding Ben Youngs from the squad is error No.2.

But Borthwick is in command ... I do hope he knows what he's doing!

The proof will be in the pudding, so to speak.

Thrilling first half. Sin bin was the right call I thought though it could quite easily have gone red. Ireland’s second try was magnificent.

Excellent win for the Irish. Damage done in the first half really. Certainly a team that won’t be easy to beat.

Ireland have got this in the bag, fantastic pressure and kicking from the boys in green.
Well played the Irish, good result

A home game for Ireland and yet Wayne Barnes was continually providing his commentary in French!

Just showing off I reckon  .

Great result nonetheless 👏 .
