Pretty certain I've ID the key, its a G. The bottom image is my locknut and has been reversed so it can be overlaid on the key

Yep Id agree there, progress at last.
Reading all the hassle you've had. I'm dumping my locknuts and taking my chances. Mines V so key is no good for you.

Going to get myself on Ebay in a bit and trawl for a locking key, should be a G available I'd have thought

I bought those Toyota nuts to replace mine and they're going rusty already on the surface, so not too happy with that.

Its been a pain, but a set of alloys and tyres is neck end of a grand, so still undecided.

There are quite a few on EBay - most seem to be around £40 which I think is bloody expensive !!

Spotted this advert in the JEC Classifieds, might be worth getting in touch although I haven't dealt with him myself.

He’s a member of this forum so just send him a PM.
Oh ffs - never thought to try mike, I bought the photos from him from Ebay to identify the keys. I now have a full set of images for all Jag keys.

Anyway, brand new key bought from SBWHEELS on Ebay, he even got me to confirm I knew which key I needed before he'd send it, nuts now OFF

I bought my Carbon Fibre Centre Caps off them, cost (slightly) more than the refurb of all four of the wheels. I had a bonus, they look nice...

Glad to hear that you managed to get sorted out. Make sure you write the letter down somewhere and that you always put the key back in its nice safe place. :)

The letter G is stamped onto my brain, I'll never forget that now :D

Wheels dropped off at National, I've got to pay about 50% towards one tyre and the other is a repair, which will be free. Got a full sized spare and the stupid space saver on her. Had a short drive up and down our street, no funny noises, no bangs etc, but the steering wheel is off centre now, so will have to see what it's like with the others back on - probably going to need to get the alignment done again. Only got it done in Feb, about a week before I hit the cone

I was paid today, which has allowed me to do my duty and pay for the Vehicle Tax on my X-Type. Price when the letter was printed was £220, price when I paid was £240. This is what I get for buying a car in May. :(
Spain "road tax" anomaly!
I just paid "road tax" to the town hall for the Jag I sold at Christmas.
That's the way it is here - the transfer formalities were not completed until the New Year.
Tax for the year is paid on the vehicle by the person who owned it Jan 1, and taken from the bank mid April.
Doh!

Pay mine monthly: no nasty big bill! £19.25 per month currently. Yeah, works out a bit dearer but it suits us.
76.26 euros is high band so taken mid april
No road tax here in France ....... But with Autoroute tolls and registration fees ....... They get you one way or another .....
31 and a few pence a month. Criminal. Prefer doing it that way though. With my record on cars breaking in my lifetime (seriously you'd think id been bitten enough by now and bought a horse) its easier to sorn them and not get charged extra months tax and wait for refunds ect.

Renewed the insurance today. That time again. Last year, £302. This year, £498. Erm I don't think so. Now have it with the same provider for £5 a month less than last year.

Question has to be asked, why come in with the initial quote if you are then going to be cheaper than last year at the end of it? Just wastes my time and their.

But it's cheaper so that's always a good thing 😁

Got onew of my wheels back with the new tyre so put that on the OSF. Got a new alloy from Ebay, that's in getting a new tyre now. Steering wheel now pointing to the left, can't see any obvious damage, so once the new wheel is back, I'll get the alignment looked at. Also now got a DSC system fault on the dash, wondering if the cone has taken out the NSF ABS sensor?

Also need to remove the front bumper so I can get the car on my ramps so that I can refix the undershield, as that's hanging down and is bent

Starting to hate the car now

Coldly...
Jag will get wet in the rain...
So I warmed up with a cup of tea and watched an interesting video about the decline of the UK Car Industry.
