Steve's XJ V8 Portfolio Thread.

As promised I am starting my ownership thread. It's Metallic Green LWB with a cream leather and oak interior. On the day of purchase it has covered 41476 miles and cost £14000.

The car drives very smoothly with that V8 purring away and the fit and finish is so much better than the XF.

Earlier today the engine management light came on so I phoned Evans Halshaw and they "don't do Jaguars" so it's booked in with Stratstone at Stockton for tomorrow morning. I will tell them to give it a good going over and fix everything they find wrong that can be charged to Evans Halshaw.

Today I managed to clean the wheels and
bleed the brakes

this was years back but wondering how you got the inner surfaces of the wheel so clean (at nearly 10yrs old), and is there any actual benefit of trying to get the undersides of the spokes that clean?

This is what i use to clean my wheels.

I don't like dirty wheels so it's to my benefit that the insides are clean.

I just got a set of 2010 Kasugas also and the inside and undersides of the spokes had so much built up debris I didn't really attempt to clean much there, I do have the Sonax and got the outer spokes pretty clean
just wondering since the underside of spokes would never be visible is it actually worth getting that side clean (ie would it help keep the outerside cleaner over time?)

I had a phone call earlier from Eurojag and they can supply me with a second hand rear screen for £180.

Just have to wait for the window guy to come and take it out.

Collection will be a week on Monday as it's another Bank Holiday.

While the rear window is out might be a good time to take the rear parcel shelf out, if you have a need to.

Best decision there Steve.

Keep your "haveago" for other stuff and make savings there, it'll all even out

Have you called around yet to get any "replace only" quotes without supplying Steve?

Car glass North East in Stockton ( another Steve ) reckon on about £60 - £70 to fit plus v.a.t
