Welcome to the forum. I would disconnect the cable at the carb end and see if the linkages move freely. If so, then change the cable.

Its a fairly simple linkage although a little more complicated if its an auto wih the DG Gearbox as ther is a rod that runs fown to the box for kickdown.

SNG Barratt have diagrams of the linkages of the different types on their website which might help to locate the issue.

Yes, thanks, I did just that and found most of the bits and oiled/greased them. The joint behind the pedal itself seems to need most attention as there is s sort of roller that rides up and down behind the organ pedal style accelerator. Any way it is much better now!
