Just recently I have noticed what I can only describe as a strange hollow sounding whirring sound which varies with engine speed when starting from cold. It goes when the engine is warm. I seems to be on the right hand side of the engine looking into the engine from the front.

Could it be the power steering belt or tensioner - or water pump or power steering? Has anyone had a similar sound and resolved it?

Thanks

Hi Mark, Is it a metallic sound or could it be air intake. Bad air hose to turbo.

It isn't a metallic sound, more a mechanical/belt like sound. Might be worth me checking the air hose to turbo - does seem to be some oil deposits on the curved tube going into the Turbo, not sure if that is significant. Strange it goes off when the engine is warm.
