I'd have thrown the tape out of the window on the opening chords of the first rack - glad it got better 馃榿

As regards to the flowers, well done to you guys - it's the simple, low-cost things that matter in life - it shows that you care. I'm in Engineering Sales, deal with OEM and Tier 1 manufacturers mainly. There's nothing better than seeing the appreciation on the customers faces on a Friday morning when you bring in a tenners worth of doughnuts - you know they'll be on your side when the 100k contract is up for discussion :sneaky:

According to the internet, BB King didn't do chords. And granted, U2 are a bit, er, Marmite?

Copied Cap'n C's report across from the old 'Ajax' thread to the current X100 Home...

Updates on Ajax ground to a halt back in July when she was unceremoniously ejected from the spray bay to allow a 鈥渜uick鈥 bit of remedial paintwork on Mem Saab the Saab 93 convertible, predictably this turned into a marathon and Ajax only returned to its rightful place last Saturday.
However work has proceeded with renewed enthusiasm the rust uncovered when the arches were cut away has been treated or cut out and new metal welded in. Both rear arches were cut away and the repair panels joggled and then welded in place and a thin skim of fibreglass filler has been applied to allow seamless blending of new and old metal. The lower rear sills also required work and these were also cut out and repair panels welded in, the structure underneath was all in good order the rust having been caught in time the internal structure got a coat of rust preventing paint before being sealed up and the new outer sills were fitted and welded like the rear arches. Some areas still require repair panels fabricating and welding in after the rust is cut out and that is next weeks task. The plan is to have the rear all completed by the end of next week and then attention will move to the front.

fingers crossed that Ajax will soon be ready to raptor seal underneath and paint on top馃榿

Yesterday saw Cap'n C venture down South for the weekend, where we loaded XKVert (with the suspect gearbox) on 'Happy Trails' - our custom built trailer. Only to find the trailer had a flat tyre. So we took that down to Huntingdon for an instant Saturday afternoon tyre fix, all sorted, thanks to some very cheery chaps with some banter exchanged. The rim had been scuffed and it took Knocking Sticks and Swearing to put things right. Sometimes, a hammer really is the right tool for the job. But no choccies nor long stemmed rose for them - just cash. But, a salutary lesson learned there about needing a spare trailer Red Wheel of Shame, and a jack and impact driver kept on board KubelWagen, along with the battery pack etc.

We then went over in Behemoth to see Orsom Weels to return his diagnostic laptop and talk (mostly) Jag topics over at his community local. But we did bravely veer into politics, which of course may not be discussed here.

Today, we had our Annual Company Outing and Team Building Event, attending Santa Pod dragster races. Apart from lots of very nice cars on the grass car park, It's not at all like Newmarket races. For a start, everyone crowds at the start line, not the finish line. And the dress code is much more relaxed. A couple of rather unusual Jaguars were noted there, and will be reported on separately very soon. We left early, and Cap'n C is now wending his way home at 55 mph max, and we will have all five X100s located in Scarborough.

Note the trailer wheelie loading method. Because the ramps are short, the geometry works better this way.

Also spotted at distance, since researched:

'Green With Envy'

And getting back on thread, Cap'n C reports that his ongoing T-cutting and polishing of Kermit is resulting in a very similar and much more agreeable colour.

Certainly does look much improved. Took it on a run from Scarborough to Hartlepool Marina, then two hours later, my friend there drove it back at pace over the Stokesley - Helmsley road, for demonstration purposes. He was so impressed, he's now looking for easy terms from an Unlicenced Credit Broker.

Still a bit more finishing detail work to do, but Kermit will be ready for sale in a few days.

Meanwhile, Kermit's space in the lockup unit has now been taken up by XKVert, finally unloaded after collection last weekend.
