Hi Guys,
Yesterday I spent a few hours at the new Triumph motorcycle factory visitor centre at Hinckley, Leicestershire.
I used to work there until I took seriously ill during April 2015 and had to take early retirement.

Yesterday was a day for employees and their family and friends to check over the new £4m visitor centre and café.
Also, we had free access to tour the factory and see all the production lines and visitor video screens showing the different manufacturing processes around the factory which although most employees are used to their families all enjoyed.

At the end of the factory tour the main canteen was open for free hotdogs, beefburgers, chips, peas and tea, coffee, soft canned drinks.

Please feel free to check out the live link below.

The Triumph homepage is www.triumphmotorcycles.co.uk

What made my day was due to my part disability I was allowed to drive straight in and park outside the main doors and so I took a pic of the Jaguar with the Triumph factory just behind which is something that I have always wanted to do.

If any member here would like to view my many pics of my visit then please PM me your email address, thanks.

No plans for today so will take the Jaguar XJ-V8 out for a spin this afternoon.

Hi Guys,
Yes, there are 3 Triumph factories in Thailand.

There are also 1 factory each in India and Brazil although these are more like assembly workshops where bikes sent in a kinda knock down form are assembled and sold in that country only and not exported from there.

This is all explained at the visitor centre displays.

Hi Guys,
Royal Enfield have been made in India for quiet a few years now although a new UK factory is being built / has been sorted.

https://royalenfield.com/uk/

One of Hinckley Triumphs senior staff members, Simon Wharburton was poached to join the new UK Enfield setting up 3 years ago. He had been with Triumph since John Bloor started to recruit specialist staff for the new Hinckley set up in 1988.
.
I believe the new factory will / has been built be in the midlands.

Morning Guys,
In the recent local press Royal Enfield UK have opened a multi million pound technology centre on the Bruntingthorpe Proving Ground here in Leicestershire. They are also going to release a new model, a 650cc twin cylinder bike called the Interceptor. That name comes from a similar model from the 1960's.

I test rode one a few years ago. While it had some character, even a kick start it would have shaken itself to bits if I'd used it for my commute. Definitely a "leafy lane with the other half on the back" kind of machine. Sadly I view my bikes as tools to help me do my job, I don't have "room" for a bike that would be a toy.
